Our blog friend Judy Patooote is such a sweetie. I asked her if I could buy some Blackberry Lily seeds from her and she sent me all these as a gift. She has a post on her blog showing the different stages of this fascinating flower. When the flowers are finished blooming they curl up into a corkscrew shape before going to seed. It's something worth checking out. Just scroll down a few posts on her blog and you'll see them.
I believe this is like the flower of the seed's she sent. Isn't it gorgeous. I read that it is also called Leopard Lily. I also discovered that there are purple and yellow ones as well as many shades of orange and pink. I'll be looking for those next.
Judy also sent this sweet bookmark. See the little child praying? You may have to click on the photo to enlarge it.
Thank you Judy, you are a precious friend.
Well that's all for now. I have been scrubbing, scraping, sanding, painting decks and this old mama is plain pooped!
A blessed new week to all.
