Winter Wonderland

I made a slideshow of snowy pictures I took yesterday but IMAGESHACK will not let me post it. So if you click on the Winter Wonderland title, You can see the them.

We have SNOW, ice, icicles, north east wind, black ice and everything that winter is!!! Last nights temperature hit eight below zero with the wind chill factor to prove it.
After all the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving, our town is moving at a snails pace. Businesses, government offices, stores, schools, most everything is closed.
It's interesting how at times like this we reach out to help one another. I have had several offers already. We live up at the base of Chuckanut Mountain and have a few good sized hills to climb to get home. Most of us don't have vehicles capable of that sort of travel.
A neighbor called us all today to let us know her husband was making a neighborhood walk. If we need anything, groceries, medications, etc, to catch him as he goes by and give him our list. He has a big four wheel drive and can make it up our steep hills. He's been driving these hills for over sixty years and really knows his stuff when it comes to driving!

Yesterday a cousin called to let me know her nephew has a four wheel drive and will do errands for me. I don't even know her nephew, but he just wants to be helpful. His mommy sure raised him right!

My brother in law, who lives next door, came over this morning and dug me out . Now I can get off the front deck safely.
All of this kindness just makes me feel all warm and hugged!

I don't like the cold and I don't like being house-bound for long, but I must say it's all worth while when we find what wonderful family, friends and neighbors we are blessed with.

Tonight I plan to make popcorn and hot cocoa, watch a good movie and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
God Bless All!
